Counsel Appointed Pursuant to the Criminal Justice Act (CJA):
Counsel appointed pursuant to the Criminal Justice Act must complete a CJA24, Authorization and Voucher for Payment of Transcript form (see below), and mail it and the Eleventh Circuit Transcript Order Form to the Official Court Reporter. Do not electronically sign or email CJA24 form. If the Court Reporter is not an Official Court Reporter, mail the form and the CJA24 to the Court Reporter Coordinator. Note: If different reporters covered various proceedings for which you are ordering transcripts, a CJA24 must be submitted for each reporter who covered all the proceedings for which you are ordering transcripts, it is only necessary to submit one CJA24.

If opposing counsel wishes to file a supplemental designation of a transcript, a Motion to Supplement the Record must be filed with the Court of Appeals in Atlanta. If granted, a supplemental Eleventh Circuit Transcript Order Form must be filed and sent by mail or email, to the Official Court Reporter who covered the proceeding. The District Court cannot file a late designation without an order from the Court of Appeals nor can the Official Court Reporter accept any further designations for the purpose of appeal other than the appellant’s original designation unless the Court of Appeals has granted permission.

The Certificate of Readiness of the Record on Appeal will be transmitted upon the filing of the Official Court Reporter’s transcript(s), or upon notice that a transcript will not be ordered.

Payments:
Arrangements for payment must be made directly with the Court Reporter within ten days of the request for the transcript(s).

If you have any questions, please contact the Court Reporter Coordinator at 305-523-5635.
