Law Day 2018
On May 11, 2018, students from North Miami Beach Senior High School participated in Law Day activities hosted by District Judge Beth Bloom and led by attorneys Sowmya Bharathi, Randy Katz, Russell Koonin, Gera Peoples and Stephanie Turk from the Federal Bar Association's South Florida Chapter. Students attended a naturalization ceremony presided by District Judge Jose E. Martinez and attended by District Judge Beth Bloom and Senior District Judge Patricia A. Seitz, along with guest speaker Representative Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, in the courtyard of the History Miami Museum. After the ceremony, the students were invited to the courthouse to observe court proceedings, discuss separation of powers principles with Magistrate Judge Lauren Fleischer Louis and attend a panel discussion.

Law Day 2019
On May 3, 2019, students from Miami Central Senior High School participated in Law Day activities hosted by District Judge Beth Bloom and led by attorneys Antonio Hernandez, Jennifer Hochstadt, Tal Lifshitz, Jonathan Osborne, Sarah Papadelias, Lisa Roberts, Stephanie Turk and David Weinstein from the Federal Bar Association's South Florida Chapter. Special thanks to District Judge Darrin P. Gayles and Magistrate Judge Edwin G. Torres for participating in our panel discussion.

Law Day 2020
On May 19, our court and leaders from the South Florida Chapter of the Federal Bar Association brought Law Day into the homes of 53 students and faculty from Hialeah Gardens Senior High School’s Law Academy. To learn more about this event, please click here.

Law Day 2021
On April 27, 2021, students from Barbara Goleman Senior High School and Hialeah Gardens Senior High School participated in Law Day activities hosted by District Judge Beth Bloom and led by attorneys Alexis Fields, Andrew Kwan, Andrew Loewenstein, Jessica Neer McDonald, Jonathan Osborne, Stephanie Turk and Yisel Valdes from the Federal Bar Association's South Florida, Broward County, and Palm Beach County Chapters. This year’s theme, “Advancing the Rule of Law Now,” focused on the idea that all of us share the responsibility to promote the rule of law, defend liberty, and pursue justice. The program was presented to approximately 1,000 students across three South Florida counties via Zoom, Zoom webinar and YouTube Live.
