Plaintiff, while an inmate at the Okeechobee Jail alleges he was repeatedly sexually assaulted by Deputy Moreira. Plaintiff’s Amended Complaint was screened and allowed to proceed on an Eighth Amendment claim against Deputy Moreira arising from the sexual assault and against Sheriff Stephen and Nurse Herndon for failing to intervene. The Defendants have filed an Answer and the Court has entered a Scheduling Order. Trial is scheduled to begin during the two week period commencing April 21, 2025.
