Williams v. Lerner-Wren et al (25-CV-21703-LMR) Posted 10/20/2025

Plaintiff, Willie Lee Williams, brought suit under 42 U.S.C. § 1983, against several law enforcement officers. The Complaint alleges violations of Plaintiff’s Fourth Amendment right against unreasonable searches and seizures. Specifically, the Complaint alleges that the officers pulled Plaintiff out of his vehicle, broke Plaintiff’s personal items, wrestled Plaintiff to the ground and wrapped his arm around his neck while two new officers arrived on the scene and placed their knees on his back and thigh. The Complaint further alleges that both Plaintiff and his vehicle were illegally searched. This case is at a very early stage, and volunteer representation would entail representing Plaintiff during all pretrial proceedings, including discovery, and at trial, if necessary.
