Federal District Court Operations and Tropical Storm Ernesto


Chief United States District Judge William J. Zloch has announced that United States District Court operations in all divisions of the Southern District of Florida will be closed on Tuesday, August 29 and Wednesday, August 30 due to wind and rain conditions currently predicted in association with Tropical Storm Ernesto. These closures affect the District Court's operations in Key West, Miami, Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach and Fort Pierce and includes Bankruptcy Courts in the District. With the exception of Key West, all District Court offices will remain open until 4:30 today. Jurors have been instructed to call in for further reporting instructions.


At this time, federal court operations are scheduled to resume at the regular time in all Divisions on Thursday, August 31st. Changes to the scheduled closures will be made via media announcements. Changes will also be posted on the Court's website at www.flsd.uscourts.gov.
