Three New Magistrate Judges for United States District Court
Chief United States District Judge William J. Zloch announced today that the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida is initiating a selection process to fill three newly-authorized magistrate judge positions.
In September 2002, The Judicial Conference of the United States authorized three additional full-time United States Magistrate Judges for the Southern District of Florida. The new positions will be located in Miami, Fort Lauderdale, and West Palm Beach. Chief Judge Zloch will appoint a Merit Selection Panel composed of attorneys and other members of the community to review applicants and recommend to the Court those best qualified. The deadline for applications is Monday, April 7, 2003. It is the Court’s policy to keep information concerning individual applicants in confidence.
